27 OCT 2022

Fifth AGM for the Campaign held, via Zoom and in person at Town Hall, attended by 10 people, including a reporter
from online local news website “East London Lines”.

14 DEC 2022

The council meeting was held, at which Sean Fitzsimons formally asked Croydon’s Mayor for his personal and political
commitment to Policy DM21 and Paragraph 7.40, and to supporting the campaign to save the Glamorgan pub in
Cherry Orchard Road.

31 AUG 2023

Two “empty” pubs near The Glamorgan, The Windmill in St. James’s Road and The Drum and Monkey in
Gloucester Road were both set alight in the early hours. Both pubs suffered substantial damage, including the top floors
being destroyed. Planning applications had previously been submitted for both pubs, and they are being discussed with

Early OCT 2023:

NO planning application for The Glamorgan has yet been submitted by the owners, who continue to effectively “land
bank” the location whilst permitting squatters to occupy it.
