NEW Planning Application for The Glamorgan! – Objections by 17 FEBRUARY 2024 PLEASE
Message from the Save the Glamorgan Campaign
The owners of the Glamorgan have recently submitted a revised Planning Application to demolish the current building and replace it with an 8-story high building comprising 24 flats and a “public house” on the ground floor. Including a small area to accommodate a “public house” is an attempt to get around the legislation that protects pubs and inhibits “change of use” applications. As seen on the attached plan (taken from the application), the new “pub” space is tiny compared to the current area. It does not even include any toilets or outside smoking areas, further reducing the actual pub size. At best, it would be a small bar without space for community events or entertainment. This is very similar to the space assigned for a bar in their previous application a few years ago. There were about 70 objections submitted by Croydon residents to that plan, which helped defeat it. We need to respond in such numbers again. The deadline for submitting comments is SATURDAY 17th FEBRUARY.
Below are the application details, a link to the Croydon website, where you will find all the application documents and a link to the page where you can submit your comments.
Thank you.
