Following an Addiscombe and East Croydon meeting on how the community responds to the Covid-19 pandemic, a group of residents and community groups have come together to run a donation centre at St Mary Magdalene Church, Canning Road, CR0 6QD, on behalf of Croydon Voluntary Action and Croydon’s Salvation Army.
How to Donate
The centre will open for donations of non-perishable food and household products on Wednesday 6th January 2021 at 10am until 2pm. The donation centre, in the Crypt of St Mary Magdalene Church, will open for 4 hours every Wednesdays and Saturdays. Details of the type of donations wanted are listed below. Please note that we are unable to take fresh food.
How to Volunteer
We are also looking for Addiscombe residents to volunteer to help run the donation centre on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10am and 2pm. We have eight 2-hour shifts to fill each week. We are also seeking drivers to take the donated items to either CVA or Salvation Army at the end of each day. If you can help you can sign up to be a volunteer via our google doc webpage.
You can also find out more about how you help the Addiscombe Community during this pandemic by signing up the Addiscombe Covid-19 Mutual-Aid Group Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/AddiscombeCovid19
